Dragging my feet to work...
Yeah, dragging my feet to work literally... My ankle has been aching for the past 3 weeks. Not sure why the sudden cause of it cos I had sprained it years back. Now I have to rely on the cream or painkillers to stop the pain. Wearing the ankle guard doesn't help cos apparently, it seems to be too small for me despite the lady at Watsons had measured my calf before I bought it.
So now whenever I wake up in the morning or sit for too long, its painful and tedious for me. According to the doc, the fluid kindda builds up/accumulate when its at rest. So when I walk and the blood circulates then it gets a bit better. I was told to walk on level ground, not to wear heels for the time being etc.
Hope it gets better soon cos its bothering me lots and I can't walk long distances without feeling the strain. Sigh, GSS le, I wanna walk and shop!!!

Not been clocking long hours at work recently compared to the past, but seriously don't know I'm feeling so tired. Getting older? Haha.
Daily routine now is wake up, take cab to work, start work, meet him or go home, have dinner, check work emails from home. So I'm sleeping at 2am almost everyday and waking up at 8am.
I know I don't have to check email from home, I am not obligated to do so but I just feel I should be prepared for the next day and know what to expect. In case of any urgent matters, I can still take action in time too.
Trying to work my way up now at the moment and the next 3-6mths is a critical period to me as I know my performance is being assessed now to see if I'm suitable to take up that post. Honestly, promotion or not, I will still work the way I am doing now.
I know my gfs always say I'm too much of a workaholic and a couple of times I have not been able to meet them cos of work. So sorry abt that gals, cos of my job nature I'm on 24/7 standby and there were times when I have had to sacrifice wkends etc cos of work. Even on leave or MC, my hp rings non-stop. But I suppose in a way, I am still passionate abt the job and its my interest. Its not just work, but a job/career that gives me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when I get a job done. Learnt lots of stuff also and still learning till now.
I won't deny I might not be spending many years down the road in this job cos afterall, its really too stressful and tiring at times with the 24/7 job nature. But still, for now I will just do whatever I can before I reach a bottleneck. Wish me good luck then for the next couple of months. Goodnight for now, another long battle waiting for me tmr!

Marche & St. James - 17/May'08
Its been a long long time since I blogged here. Have been blogging on Friendster cos I actually wanna change my blogskin, but was too lazy, haha. So I finally gathered my lazy bones and got it done last night and finished at 5am only.
Went Marche and St. James on 17/May with colleagues (Jocelyn and Grace), Jocelyn's bf, ex-colleagues (Alan and Shawn) and Hubby. It was a super hot day and I think the entire day I was sweating. We were supposed to meet at 7pm but due to the jam, the others reached ard 8pm. There was a super long queue at Marche by then, so me and Hubby decided to queue first while waiting for the others. It was humid and uncomfortable, but lucky the staff actually offered some sample cups of cold lemon tea (a tad too sweet to my liking though =p).
When it was finally our turn, only Alan had arrived by then, so we ordered some food and drinks first while waiting for the rest to come. Got to eat the rostti and cheese sausage, mushrooms etc (no pics cos too hungry liao). Chatted (or rather gossip a bit, lol), laughed and lots of eating. Its been quite some time since we have gathered together like this.
After filling our stomachs, we headed to the Food Republic Foodcourt. Not to eat lah, u think we are cows with 4 stomachs? The "uncles" (aka the guys) wanted to drink kopi, pengz. So headed there and searched high and low for a table cos there were 7 of us, so kindda hard to find a table to accomodate all of us. Alan was busy on the phone most of the time cos of work, poor chap. After the guys had their kopis, we headed to St. James. Jocelyn's bf and Alan did not go with us as one was unwell and the latter had to head back to office. We told Alan to join us after his work was done and that we'll be waiting for him.
There was no queue at Power House which we had made a reservation. 1st round of drinks, me and Hubby had Bourbon Coke, the standard drink we always order and Hubby ordered a jug of Long Island Tea which the others don't drink and we had to finish between us. Seriously don't know why he ordered that cos I still feel only Zouk's Long Island Tea is nice and it was so ex, moreover didn't ask the rest if they wanna drink this or not. Usually 1-2 glasses of Long Island Tea at Zouk can make me quite "seh", but Power House's version was kindda yucky and no kick.
2nd round of drinks, I had vodka ribena and Hubby had rum coke (he really loves Coke). I think at Marche he drank Coke too. Still feeling ok, not much people and the music was still not really to my type. Then... we decided to open a bottle (one of the conditions in order to have a table). Ta dah, we ordered Martell VSOP, haha. So the whole night was spent drinking, dancing, toilet trips and chatting (or rather shouting cos music too loud?). In the meantime was smsing Alan to keep pester him to finish work and join us asap, hehe.
Around 12+am, another colleague and his gal joined us. Somehow the table next to us kept toasting to us a few times, think they were being friendly cos we let them share table with them, lol. By 3am, we were kindda tired and the songs were getting boring, so decided to move off. Still half bottle of Martell which I suppose have to keep for another time.
There was a long queue at Dragonfly, so we decided not to queue. Moreover, we had a colleague's wedding to attend the next day at 1pm. Me, hubby and Jocelyn shared a cab back, while the others drove back. By the time we reached home, removing my makeup, shower etc, was like 4+am liao. So lied on the bed, watch tv a bit and fell asleep soon. Somehow falling asleep and waking up in his arms is a blissful feeling, hehe. *blush*
